WISHING EVERYONE HAPPINESS AND GOOD HEALTH IN 2020 AND RAIN FOR AUSTRALIA

We have been making good use of our covered deck area with a visit from grandson, partner and great-granddaughter for lunch yesterday and have just had our lunch there today.  The weather has been good - not too hot, forecast 27 degrees today.

Thankfully, one of the "cures" from the G.P. for my ongoing cough seems to be working and my cough has almost gone.

I was talking to my step-daughter in New South Wales yesterday and she had to go as she thought they may have to evacuate but when I phoned today they were still home.  fingers (and everything else) crossed.  I just don't know where it will end with all these massive fires.

  1. NSW does seem to be under siege. Very sad. Enjoy entertaining on the deck. May the hospitable weather continue.

    Happy New Year!

    1. Yes, we are enjoying our deck and while Australia is having this heatwave and strong winds our weather has been quite balmy.

  4. I feel for your daughter Susan, it must be so stressful for her. We have a lot of family living in Australia, but thankfully none that have been so far affected by the fires. I do wish it would rain for them.
Wishing you all the best for a happy 2020, Mxx

  5. Someone was saying yesterday that a lot of Aussies may leave, and settle elsewhere. I wonder if NZ will see a rise in immigration; I'm sure they will in the UK. I really feel for them; what a disaster.

    1. I would have thought it more likely that people go to N.Z. rather than U.K.

    1. Yes, it is hot for us isn't it. We are so pleased to have the new deck area (or rather the deck now covered and cooler).

  7. My fervant wish too is for lots of rain in NSW - the images on the TV are really frightening - a medieval vision of hell on earth. I just don't understand why they went ahead and had that huge firework display last night!

    1. Unfortunately, Rosemary, they have needed rain for a long time. The fireworks display just rubbed salt in the wound.
