BRIGHT LIGHTS IN THE CITY

This year as so many things were cancelled due to Covid the Council put on a trail of lights around the Loop Walkway so, last night, we decided to go and it was the perfect night for it.  As it gets dark so late at present we set off in daylight.  First we walked up to the main shopping street where a Christmas tree was decorated

and I liked this display in my favourite shoe shop.

As we got to the Town Basin the sun was beginning to set.  (As always, it looked a lot brighter than the photo).

The Hundertwasser building has had the security fences removed.

The new Restaurant has opened and was full of diners.

Some of the vintage boats on display

Another restaurant full up.

We decided not to walk right around The Loop but went as far as the pedestrian bridge

and looked across at the Bascule bridge

Returning, we could see the lights on the trees the other side of the river

and on our side of the river

Another couple of restaurants at the Town basin also full

the vintage boats were now lit up

and so was the Canopy Bridge

  1. What a wonderful walk. So nice on a warm night to be out and see all those lights and people.

    1. We don't go out in the evenings very often but it was so nice to see so many people. We have also just got Rental Electric scooters here so there were lots of people enjoying them.

  2. Quite a light show - and so nice to join you on your evening walk; sunset here is before four in the afternoon and you're lucky if there's any sun.

    1. It gets light at about 5.30 a.m. and the photo of the bridge was taken at 9 p.m.
