HOUSE WASH AND CHRISTMAS CARD

Today we have had the house washed.  It is the first time it has been done by a professional company and I was surprised that Doug agreed when I suggested it as he has always done it himself.

It has been raining most of the day but, luckily, not as heavily as forecast.  They washed the house (cream bricks), windows and concrete of the drive and we are really happy with the result.  (No pics as it is still raining).

We received several Christmas cards today but one in particular caught our eye.  It is three dimensional and was quite hard to photograph.

  1. That takes Christmas cards into a whole other dimension! A lot of the houses around here are built with cream-coloured bricks; in town they soon become very dingy but very few people ever think of having them cleaned.

    1. I suppose I should have taken a "before" photo but we are really pleased with the job of both the house and concrete drive. All ready for Christmas and summer although to hear the wind and rain outside it doesn't seem like summer but we were warned to expect this.

  2. Nice to have a clean house..good to come home to.
That is an interesting card, and well designed.
That would take a lot of construction if you wanted to make them yourself!

    1. Yes, the card is very complex with lots of clear panels.

  3. It just came up on fb, it's two years since we met my cousin Billy and Tric in Taupō Bay.

  4. I had never heard of anyone having their houses washed before but I noticed that a blogger in the States had her house washed. I suppose that because houses where I live in the Cotwolds are built of natural stone, house washing is something that is not on our agenda.

    1. We got the quote and agreed to the job at the end of September so have not been worrying about house cleaning in the meantime. It is the first time we have had it done so there is several years build up of general grime from the atmosphere. I can't imagine washing Cotswold stone although I suppose it does get grime as well.

  5. We've been meaning to get our house washed for last few months too, our landlord has been a bit behind on it so we were wondering if the product from wet and forget might be worth getting.

    1. Wet and Forget looks good on the ads. We haven't used it. We had Chemwash, not cheap but well worth it.
