Monarch Butterflies

After Doug went off to his Art Class this morning I let a couple of Monarch Butterflies out of the cage.  Here is one sunning itself on some netting we have out for them.  Good for them to have some sunshine.

  1. How many do you breed? It's a really lovely idea.

    1. Over 300 a year although we didn't count this year. We put the caterpillars in the cage to save them from wasps.

  3. I'm delighted to see your monarchs. I was watching white and yellow butterflies here and wondering about yours.

    1. Yes, they are still emerging. Getting a bit cooler now although we had them right through last winter.

  4. It's good they are still coming out there, it's way too cold here for them right now.
