Doug built this windmill from scratch when he moved here. It is fully functioning and can be turned into or out of the wind.
Here are some photos with me to give an idea of size. I am 5' 6" tall.
When our nearly 4 year old great-grand daughter visited on Thursday the first thing she had to do was check if anyone was inside (Note the door and windows).
And is there mechanism inside??
ReplyDeleteYes, it works. Too well in a strong wind which is why it can be turned out of the wind.
DeleteYou keep us in suspense. Was there a little miller in there????
ReplyDeleteI should have gone down with them and checked Grand-daughter and great grand daughter went down to check and didn't tell us what they found.
DeleteLovely! Both you and the windmill.
ReplyDeleteYou are very kind.

ReplyDeleteNice to meet you Marja. I just had a quick look at your blog and will take a more comprehensive look when I get a chance.
DeleteI love Doug's windmill. I imagine children are enthralled by it! How fun for your great-grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteYes, the little doors and windows make it a magnet for small children.
DeleteWhat a lovely windmill – your husband is very talented. Today I started commenting on blogs again. It is hard work to continually clearing out, de-cluttering and moving items to the new house, I need some fun; checking my friends’ blogs is always fun. Thanks for coming to my blog during my husband’s illness when I only had time to post once in a while, I appreciate your comments.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you. You have certainly had a hard time of it lately.
Deletevery clever! it's a child's dream.
