Over the winter I had some potatoes that were starting to shoot so planted them. Last week Doug got some of the beds ready for spring planting and found these lovely new potatoes. Enough for a few meals for the two of us.
They look very attractive too. We don't eat a whole lot of potatoes and when we do we favour those tiny ones. We toss them in olive oil, garlic, rosemary, salt and pepper and bake them in the oven and they are delicious.
Home grown is so much tastier than the shop bought version. Enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteYes, and it is a nice change from the older "mashing" potatoes.
DeleteThey look lovely - I couldn't manage without potatoes.
ReplyDeleteNeither could I. We eat a lot of them.

ReplyDeleteThat sounds good.
DeleteWhat s nice surprise that must have been. They look perfect.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are really early - a real treat.
DeleteI've had this happen simply from peelings on the compost. A lovely surprise.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't emptied the compost bins yet.
DeleteI have grown potatoes and it is so fun to dig them up. Yours will be extra tasty knowing that you grew them.
ReplyDeleteI just love digging potatoes. Just like a big kid checking to see how many and how large.
DeleteNice haul!
