I don't know if anyone else drinks vegetable water but Doug and I both enjoy it. His children and grandchildren are not interested which means we don't have to share.
I usually make a mash of potatoes, kumara (sweet potato) and pumpkin. I lightly salt and
cook this first and then pour the water onto our greens to cook them. It is this water that we then drink and it is delicious.
Love it; often with some Marmite stirred into it.
ReplyDeleteI think Marmite would hide the delicious flavour.
ReplyDeleteUsed to fight over that when we were children, though haven't had any for ages.
ReplyDeleteWe used to have the veggie water from the steamed veges with marmite. I usually use it for soup stock now.
ReplyDeleteI always use the veg water especially from cabbage which is packed with vitamin C, and like gz I use it in soup.
ReplyDeleteWe use it as a stock for soup. I am sure it would be a nutritious drink.
ReplyDeleteTastes good and does you good. I often have mine with a little white pepper instead of salt but, definitely, no Marmite.
ReplyDeleteI drink it as well. I especially like to drink the water after I've steamed broccoli.
ReplyDeleteNo i haven't tried it but maybe I should try, will add some marmite to it as others have suggested.
ReplyDeleteI do sometimes use in soup as well. For my taste Marmite would make it too salty and detract from the delicious taste. Everyone's taste buds are different.
