Doug has decided not to go ahead with his hernia operation after all. He said the staff at the hospital were all very nice and they explained to him the risks with his age and medical history (quadruple bi-pass). It had seemed odd that he was last on the list.
He knew there was a risk with any operation but had not realised how much more risk there would be. He has been doing exercises to help the hernia and using our Inversion Table every day which also helps.
This morning he phoned the booking clerk and told her of his decision. Luckily, he got a very helpful lady and she said she would tell the surgeon and also told him if things change he can either go to A. & E. or his doctor and request a fast tracked operation as he is already in the system.
Apparently, the discussion yesterday involved asking him if there was someone to rush him back into hospital in the middle of the night if he had the op and went home but then one of the other medical staff said he could always get an ambulance but they can often take a while.
Today has been a lovely, sunny day and we have been in the garden planting out seedlings.
