EXERCISE CLASS

Parkinson's Northland organises many different exercise classes - as well as the Walking Group there is a singing group as people with Parkinson's need voice exercises, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, tai chi, ballroom dancing and the one I went to today "Movement for PD" which is an exercise class to music.  It was being discussed on Monday after our walk so I decided to give it a go.

I had thought I may be stiff after stacking the firewood yesterday but I feel good and found the exercise class really relaxing.  It was just for an hour ($2.00) and, as long as I don't have appointments on Thursdays I plan on continuing.

Doug says his feet are a lot better and he is working on a garden seat that had seen better days.

We have just received a lovely card from the Vets which read:

Thinking of you both after the sad loss of Kim

Especially as it came so soon after Sophie.

It is lovely to get such a personal card.

  3. Good to get together and exercise, the getting together can be as good as the exercise!

    1. He says the foot with the gout is better but the other one is still sore. He now thinks he may have dropped something on it. It fell on his leg but he didn't realise it had hurt his foot as well.

    1. Yes, they have always sent a card after euthanasia but I liked the fact that they mentioned us having just lost Sophie as well. It shows empathy.

  6. We have had a card each time from our vet, and they always put the cat's name on it too, a very special kind of caring that you don't see very often, and two ,too soon together, the gaps are always so huge.XXX

    1. Yes, we have always received a card (and from the Kaitaia vets when we were there). I was pleasantly surprised by the reference to Sophie as well. We did receive a card for her as well.

  7. You have obviously picked a very caring vet, how kind of them.
Your exercise class is extremely good value for money. I really enjoy tai chi, it is good for both body and mind ( and I don't have to get down on the floor as with yoga or pilates!)
