Yesterday's walk was to Raumanga Falls. We were very lucky as it rained all day on Sunday (very welcome for the garden) but was fine but cloudy yesterday morning. After the walk we had our Christmas get-together and everyone contributed a plate of food. I had intended to take a photo of the table but forgot. There were 16 of us.
We had just started to eat when the heavens opened. If it had happened on our walk we would have all got drenched.
The Falls had plenty of water after Sunday's rain. You can't get close for a photo.
I took these photos on the way back. It was a little cooler in the bush.
The Park before the bush
That's a beautiful path, it reminds me of one we occasionally take in France; all rocks, streams, and ferns. The dogs love it too.
ReplyDeleteI love the tree ferns and rocks.
DeleteInteresting rocks by the path..another good walk..pity you can't get a wee bit nearer the falls
ReplyDeleteYou can get to the top of falls but rocks would have been slippery.
DeleteWonderful. I love waterfalls ,the sound of the falls, the freshness on the air. It's a lovely walk
ReplyDeleteYes, the air was much better near the falls.
DeleteI didn't know there were falls there. Isn't Raumanga near Otaika?
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely walk that starts at the Information Centre in Otaika.
DeleteIt looks beautiful, Susan, and a meal with friends is always fun.
ReplyDeleteYes and it is a very pleasant walk.
