Doug then went to the library while I did some more shopping then we went to the supermarket for a couple of items (and ended up with a lot more than that).
Home and I made a packet vanilla cake for another trifle as we left the Christmas Day one with family. Had a panic as, when I put the mix in the tin it seemed very thick. I looked up to make sure I had the right amount of milk and found the milk still sitting in the measuring cup. Had to spoon the mix out of the paper lined tin and add the milk before re-lining the tin and starting again. In spite of this it has come out well. Half of my square tin and a mini loaf tin is just right for the mix.
After yesterday's clean up.
Glad you discovered the milk and your cake turned out alright! Another disaster averted :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I had a very sticky mix as gf is a bit sticky to start with. Still all's well that ends well.
DeletePhew, that's a whopping Banana tree.
ReplyDeleteIt is 3 years since we bought 2 small plants. There are still 2 bunches of bananas left on them.
DeleteWell done on choosing a quieter day for shopping.
ReplyDeleteFriends in Whanganui have been reading 34 on their thermometers....stay cool! Well..cooler anyway.
That banana is impressive, in such a short time
Yes, other places have been much hotter. The humidity is the main problem. The new fan is great.
DeleteI really dislike humid weather too, but I don't like our current wet weather either. Soon all of us here will be walking around with webbed feet if it doesn't stop raining soon.
ReplyDeleteD has cleaned up banana palm nicely. It looks very smart. Humidity is terrible. You really needed that fan
