While we were having lunch on the back porch a Magpie Moth flew in. They used to be plentiful but we haven't seen one for ages. I went for my camera and, of course, it flew outside and disappeared. I saw it again later but, once again, it had gone when I got my camera. We are hoping to see some more around.

We used to see Europe's largest Moth (can't remember its name), which fed on tobacco flowers. No-one now grows tobacco, so no more giant moth.
ReplyDeleteWe, actually, have plenty of one of their preferred plants, cineraria.
DeleteIf you see one, you will probably see more in the coming days.
ReplyDeleteI hope so.
DeleteLove seeing these little fellows flying around. I hope you get to see lots more.
ReplyDeleteWith a bit of luck. Heaps of Monarchs.
DeleteBeautiful wings and body. The moths we have around here are usually grey and not too exciting.
ReplyDeleteYes they are pretty.
