One of our regular walkers suggested a new walk. It was just on the edge of town and was a street walk. We started at the beginning of Millington Road walking alongside the Golf Course to the end of the road and back. It was a very pleasant walk with just one short sharp shower. Doug and I had driven up it before to collect some native timber he was given but you see more when you are walking. Unfortunately, the Golf Club Cafe (which specialises in gluten free food) is closed on Mondays as are a lot of cafes.
We were surprised at the number of new houses being built along the road. I forgot to take photos until we got to the end of the road but here is a sample.
This is the view from the end of the road
A cafe cat, the best way to have a meal, and blossoms, down here lots of pink flowers, maybe peach or apple?
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what the blossom was The cat was lovely, just made him/herself at home.
DeleteIt's amazing that they would have a cat there. Do they not take into account patrons who might be allergic to them, or simply would prefer not to have them there? I certainly would not want a cat jumping in my lap while I was in a café.
ReplyDeleteThere are several different rooms in the cafe as well as an outside covered area and garden. We have been there many times before and not seen the cat. As gz said below a cat knows a cat person.
DeleteThe young lady the cat is lying on had brought her father on the walk. She used to look after my late husband in a care home. All she has ever wanted is to be a mother and finally, after several IVF treatments, conceived only to lose the baby a couple of months ago. She is a "cat person" and the cat seemed to know she needed "a hug".
I think that being a cat person is commendable and lovely. Does that translate into every person in the room (and despite there being several rooms cats are perfectly capable of moving from one to another) should have the cat foisted on them, even if they have an allergic reaction to cats? Are there no standards of sanitation governing animals in a commercial dining facility? Maybe they should add a dog and a couple of parrots!
DeleteA cat knows who is a cat person.
ReplyDeleteNice to have a different walk, it looks a good one
Yes, see my reply to David above and it was a lovely walk.
DeleteWonderful looking walk,it’s amazing that you are headed for spring when we are headed for fall and winter.
ReplyDeleteWe have not had much of a winter - very few cold days and no frosts - I had better not speak too soon.
DeleteYes I know where this is. It's amazing how many new houses are cropping up in various places, just goes to show how quickly the population is growing.
ReplyDeleteYes, Amy, it is only a few months since we were last there and we were amazed at the new houses. Mind you, it is a lovely spot and so close to town.
DeleteI once went to a small restaurant near here where a cat jumped on my lap, and stayed there throughout my whole meal.
