Just 27° degrees today which was better than the 29° yesterday. I had some papers to take across town and, as the company we bought scallops from last year was close by I phoned to see if they had any. We had missed the scallop season but they had packets of frozen ones. After delivering the papers we went and I bought three x 500 gram packs of frozen scallops and some fresh gurnard fillets for our lunch today.
Then it was back home to get the Christmas tree decorated, we had morning tea as I had an appointment at 12.30 p.m. for Intense Pulse Light Therapy for Blepharitis. I do not find it pleasant but it does help and it is 11 months since I last had it done. It took just under half an hour so we went home for a slightly late lunch. Didn't seem to get much more done, just caught up on a few emails and blogs.
Mmm I would love a scallop or two. The last time I ate them was in NZ many years ago. Very tasty.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely decorated Xmas tree. Very cheery!
We haven't eaten any yet as we bought the fresh gurnard which was enough for two days. Looking forward to them though.
DeleteDidn't know what Pulse Light Therapy for Blepharitis was but looked it up. Good that it gives you some relief.

It is not very pleasant but it does help.
DeleteHow is it that such huge marrows can go undetected? Used to happen to me every year when I grew courgettes in my mother's garden. Nice Christmas tree.
ReplyDeleteThey were bigger than they looked in the photo and were "hiding" at the bottom of the plant.
DeleteGotta love courgettes, they are a favourite for stir fries and omelettes.
ReplyDeleteWe also have a gadget for making "spaghetti" out of them.
DeleteThe tree looks good, I'm still waiting a few days before cutting mine. Local Kiwi Alien suggests boiling the escapee courgettes (marrows), allowing them to cool, and serving with lemon juice and olive oil. I shall be trying this next year.
ReplyDeleteWe have two courgette plants so plenty of them as well as lots of beans so I put the marrows in the compost. I have a recipe somewhere made with lots of olive oil, garlic, tomatoes and bread which is good but I will stick to courgettes.
