ENDEAVOUR OPEN DAY

Doug went to the Endeavour open day.  There was only the one day and before he got to the Endeavour he came across large areas of what had been bare land the previous day and was now car parking.  He parked and walked to the Endeavour and queued for about 30 minutes.  He said that if he had left it later the queue when he left was much longer.

When Captain Cook sailed the Endeavour to New Zealand there were 96 people on board the 32 metre ship so it would have been pretty crowded.

Anyway, these are the photos he took.

  1. I have a copy of Cook's diary. It's an interesting read.

    1. It would be. I have read the book on Tupaia and that was interesting.

  2. Really interesting. It looks such a small ship to have sailed such a long way.
I bet there are crowds everywhere it goes
