PARKINSON WALK - LAKE WARO AND ROCKS

For today's walk we headed north to Hikurangi and walked around  Lake Waro and then the rocks alongside it.  Another lovely day and we had a good walk followed by a cuppa at a nearby cafe and then discovered an excellent wholefoods shop a bit further down the street.

When we got home Doug finished putting the ply on the new roof.  We are having to water the garden regularly now and there is no rain on the immediate forecast.  I picked our first Courgette/zucchini

  1. What a great walk, with some interesting geology too. We could do with the occasional dry day here.

    1. Yes, it is fascinating. A bit further afield - 15 kms from home.

    1. Hikurangi - heading north we prefer to take the first turn right into Hikurangi, drive through the township then right to the Waro Lake and Transfer Station.

  5. Those rocks look so interesting. They remind me of the limestone outcrops we had when we lived south of Te Awamutu.
How wonderful to find a wholefoods store! I am sure there must be a good one in Hamilton here somewhere but I haven't found it yet. I know there is one in Tauranga that I liked, but it is a bit far away LOL.
