BOBBY

Our neighbour, Jay, who moved to the next street just over a year ago had a black cat with a bung eye.  It has returned twice - the first time when she was on holiday and she came and got it.  We have seen Bobby a few times over the fence and he looked well fed and contented and she decided to leave it here.

For some time (years) Doug has been feeding a grey cat to try and stop it catching the doves and other birds that he feeds.  Since we lost Kim, Bobby has been coming with this other cat for food morning and night.  He has also been sleeping under the guava tree.

As rain is forecast Doug decided to make a little house for Bobby.

and there it is under the guava tree.

I just hope that Bobby uses it.,

  1. The best cats are the ones that find us, rather than us finding them. They come (and stay) for a good reason.

    1. Apart from Kath and Kim (who we got from the SPCA) all our cats just turned up. I don't think either of these two will become indoor cats.

  2. A cat roaming around like that is a death sentence for so many birds and other small creatures.

    1. David, this is why Doug started feeding them, on the premise that a well fed cat is less likely to hunt and it does seem to be working.

  3. That is what our neighbours did for our cat who didn't like young children..but with a roofing felt roof. He sat on top when dry and inside when wet..when he wasn't in front of their fire!
Kim has gone, so there is a cat shaped space..which has obviously been filled!

    1. It seems popular right from the start but the settee is comfortable and larger.
