JOE BIDEN AND KAMALA HARRIS

What wonderful speeches from Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, especially after the barely comprehensible ones we have had from the President over the last 4 years.

Although we live far away we have been following this election with great interest.  Now, we just have to wait and see what President Trump has to say for himself.  It would be great if he accepted defeat with grace but I doubt it.

Back here, when we went into Lockdown (March I think) we bought several dvd's but had not watched any of them until last night when we watched Jojo Rabbit.  Taika Waititi has, once again, done a wonderful job.  It was an unusual film but one we thoroughly enjoyed.

  1. I wouldn't want to be taking over with all the mess left behind. I wish them good luck.

  2. Kamala Harris, what a gracious graceful lady, I will wait and see where she will be in 4 years, I am picking right up there at the top. so glad for all my friends in the North, what a trying time, so glad I wasn't a vote counter.

    1. We were very impressed with her speech. I think (and hope)they are the right people for the task. I gather Kamala originally, ran against Biden. She could well end up in the top job.

  3. Trump and grace are polar opposites of each other. As for the speeches I thought they were welcome, workmanlike, free of bombast and exactly what was needed, but to call them wonderful is a bot of a stretch for me.

    1. It was wonderful to hear a balanced speech after what has been occurring for the past four years.

  4. The inclusiveness was a big point -- mentioning by name all the marginalized groups was a great move, and contrasted sharply with the cruelty and ignorance of White House speeches for the last four years. I've worked hard to get vote by mail, vote protection and other things now codified in law in my state, and it's good to know that people far away are appreciating the results. Exhale with us!

  5. Yesterday was a good day for America. I was jumping for joy when I heard the news, especially since it was my state that put Biden over the top. We have a very difficult time ahead, but for the first time in four years, I am hopeful and will sleep better. Tweeting cruel and dishonest posts from our President will, on January 20, 202, be no more.

  6. Always nice to hear intelligent people saying sensible things in grown-up language. Lets hope wise actions follow.

  7. We saw the speech from Biden as well, think it had my attention for about 5 mins then I switched over, it seemed to go on a bit. We couldn't really understand Jojo Rabbit either, definitely an unusual movie.

    1. We watched both speeches right through and the same with Jojo Rabbit even though we were watching it quite late for us. It was unusual but enjoyable. I think it won more than one Oscar.
