When I moved here there was an unloved garden bench hidden away. Apparently, Doug bought it 30 - 40 years ago and, consequently, it is really heavy not like the new ones. Recently, Doug decided it was time to give it a new lease of life. He had renewed the planks on the seat a while ago but the timber at the back had disintegrated so it was taken to bits.
That is wonderful craftsmanship, love the wheels.
ReplyDeleteHe has done a great job. We will enjoy it over summer.
DeleteBrilliant - well done Doug.
ReplyDeleteIt is now raining but when the sun returns we look forward to using it.
DeleteDoug has done a really great job with that seat and adding the wheels were a stroke of genius. Summer is coming :)
ReplyDeleteWe look forward to using it over summer (and winter).
DeleteDoug seems like a man always looking for a project.
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't have to look. There is plenty that always needs doing.
DeleteWe all want a man like Doug in our lives. I joined a group on Facebook called Creative Gardening where people from all over the world show pictures of their gardens and flowers. Many show the beautiful workmanship of the men and women in their lives. Greenhouses are always a theme and one is more beautiful than the other. There are always so many comments praising the beautiful creation. and we are all a bit jealous. The only thing I could come up with is "My husband empties the dishwasher". Your Doug is a treasure and that bench is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI will look for that FB group. Doug IS my dishwasher. I always had one until I moved in with him when we got married.
DeleteHe is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteAnother marvellous conversion by Doug. He is very very handy
ReplyDeleteYes, not sure what next project is.
DeleteThose wheels are a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThey are necessary, it is very heavy.
