AT HOME TIME

Apart from going to the market and supermarket this morning we have had three days at home catching up on jobs.  I know we have both been busy all the time but struggle to recall exactly what we have been doing.  Mainly mundane things like gardening, housework, sorting out cupboards, gardening, pre-Christmas things etc.

It amazes me the amount of birds we have on our section but one can walk past any of the birds and they will sit and look at you until you have a camera in your hand. With some bribery, Doug managed to get some photos of the more common birds the other day.

and some shots taken on my phone of the Christmas lights at night.

  1. I have days like that, when I'm busy all day without seeming to get anything significant done. The Christmas lights are looking good.

  2. I see the first bird is a Thrush. I haven't seen a Thrush around her for several years, so sad. All of the gardens have been decked out and paved and there are no bushes or trees to speak of. Just a couple of days ago my next door neighbour cut all the bushes down in her front garden, these were home to a flock of sparrows so they are gone now as well. So sad.

    1. That's sad. I presume your neighbour was making parking space. We are lucky to have so much green around here, although a lot is going with lots of people from Auckland moving here because their prices have gone through the roof.

    1. When I first read this (just after 5 a.m.) the dawn chorus was loud.

    1. It is difficult to get a good photo as the lights come and go and with a flash it was hopeless.
