IT'S GETTING HOT

29° C. today and it is only the beginning of December.  Tonight is forecast to be 18° C and tomorrow a high of 29° and a low of 20° then on Saturday the high will be 20° .  It is now 8.40 p.m. and the temperature is 24° goodness knows what it will be like in February which is usually the hottest month.

Anyway, we had an "at home" day when we were able to catch up on various jobs that needed doing.  Most of the Christmas decorations are up but the tree has not been started on yet.  Yesterday I bought a punnet of beetroot seedlings as ours are now ready and I thought I should have some more coming on.  I managed to get 2/3 of them planted.

The two cats are settling in well.  Doug went to the house two doors down and, as we thought, the grey is theirs .  He is called Blue and, apparently, at their last house he shared his time between them and another house. He spent most of the day in our garden in the shade.

  1. Wasn't it hot this time last year too?

  2. While it's getting warmer there, it's getting cooler here too! My neighbour's cat much prefers to be in my back yard even though I do nothing to encourage her.

    1. Blue is quite happy just lying around here - could be because of children in the other house.

  3. Twenty-nine degrees even in summer is too hot for my liking.

    1. I thought your summer temps were hotter and winter ones colder than ours.

  4. Our summer was terribly hot and it sounds like yours will be the same. Each year outdoes the other.

  5. You found the owner of Blue!! What a clever cat. At least you know now he has an owner, someone else to pay his vet bills lol
Your vegetable garden sounds marvellous as always

    1. We had a feeling that was where he came from although he tends to wander all over the place. Pleased with vegies at present.

  6. Oh, that is toasty! We're hovering around 21C. The sky is bright blue and the air is still. I keep seeing people dressed in shorts heading toward the beach. December in SF should not be this hot, however, so I am not rejoicing. :S
