We watched the funeral and procession "on demand" today as we were too tired to stay up last night. The funeral was from 10 p.m. here and we had a busy day yesterday with an unexpected delivery of firewood that we duly put away in the shed so knew that we would most likely nod off if we tried to watch it live.
We still have more to see as we had appointments today - an 8.30 a.m. one for Doug at the skin clinic and both of us had podiatry appointments this afternoon. One thing the British is good at is Pomp and Ceremony.
REST IN PEACE YOUR MAJESTY.
Prince Andrew is now "Keeper of the Corgis"!!
ReplyDeleteYes, we heard that - Andrew and Fergie!!
DeleteAmazing to see the whole world grieving for her
ReplyDeleteYes, but well deserved. (Just found your comment in spam).
DeleteDid you see Chis Slane's cartoon in the Listener? I saw some, until about 10.15, then the rest the next day. Pomp, ceremony, precision , stiff upper lip, grief takes a back seat to being a royal when in public.Raining here, now time to wear bright colours again.
ReplyDeleteNo, we don't get the Listener but I see it was a Special Issue so will look out for it at the Supermarket,
DeleteAmazing ceremony. I loved the Scots and their bagpipes, they looked fantastic.
