BACK TO QUARRY GARDENS

It was a warm but cloudy day for our walk in Quarry Gardens this morning.  It is a walk we both enjoy as there is always something new in flower.

The Chris Booth Sculpture

an unusual small alstroemeria

Although it can become invasive the Acanthus looks good.

I am sure this seedhead/flower (not sure which) has grown since our last visit

The water lillies are just coming into flower.

A pretty grouping of plants

There were two of this benches

There were ten of us today on the walk which finished, as usual, in a cafe.

  1. Good to see Quarry Gardens reviving after the floods.
We have only ever seen Quarry Gardens in photos, never had time to stop and wander there

    1. Yes, they are doing a lot of work to bring it back after the flooding. Plenty of Tuis (the lovely song bird but none able to be photographed).

    1. I wonder if you can go out for a walk there. I do hope that things go smoothly on Jan 20.

  4. Our neighbour has the Bear's breeches plant in her backyard and they are huge, unfortunately they keep seeding over the fence into my garden and they are quite difficult to get rid of.

    1. Yes, they tend to be invasive. I had them when I lived up north but we had 5 acres.
