A LITTLE LIGHT RELIEF.

One of the headlines in our local paper this morning was "Some Brits want war with NZ".  It appears that some people, unhappy with the way Boris Johnson is handling Covid 19,want the U.K. to declare war on New Zealand - they will then surrender immediately so that Jacinda Ardern can take over the reins in the U.K.  Apparently International Law states that you become the de facto government of a country you defeat.

On a not so good topic we have two new cases of  Covid 19 - two women who came into the country from U.K. and were granted permission to drive to Wellington on compassionate grounds.  It appears they did not have many contacts thank goodness so, hopefully, it will be contained.

  1. Oh dear, hopefully it will be contained. I fear for what will happen here. There were photos yesterday on the BBC website of what I can only call idiots all bunched together waiting for places like Nike Shop to open! I doubt they had a brain cell between them all to rub together. Some were wearing masks below their noses! Um, yup, like that is really going to help. There were queues outside other shops, Primark etc...is it really that urgent to buy clothes?! Sad state of affairs.

    1. We were amazed at the queues outside Macdonald's when they first opened after Lockdown.

    1. Boris is a politician, not a doctor. He simply follows advice from so called 'experts'.

  3. During two important weeks prior to lockdown when important 'cobra' meetings were taking which should have been attended by Boris. Where and what was he doing? He took himself of Chevening House, the official residence of the foreign secretary in Kent. He spent two weeks sorting out his upcoming divorce instead of attending to the urgent virus situation. If we had gone into lockdown two weeks earlier thousands and thousands of lives would have been saved.
I didn't vote for him, and never would have done.

    1. I knew there was a delay in starting Lockdown but not that Boris was sorting his divorce.

  4. Kiwis have been too compassionate.. apparently one woman knew she had symptoms...but it is fortunate in a way, now the quarantine system has been properly tightened up..and no exceptions

  5. I had trouble understanding how they let these women travel when one had definite symptoms - they didn't even test them first! We've also heard reports about how lax the quarantine supervision is. If they keep that up we will get the virus back sooner rather than later. Not good.

  6. You have done such a marvelous job with this virus and seeing as your country was able to discover the Covid cases before it spread this time, it should be contained.

After Ardern straightens out the UK, could we, in the US, borrow her for about four years or eight.

    1. And our Opposition says she got it wrong and went too hard ruining the economy. I know what I prefer.
