She now has a one year old grand-daughter here in Whangarei so Doug has been working on the rocking horse. It has a few scuff marks but the main problem was that the ears (which were wooden) had been broken off and the mane needed replacing.
Today Doug has finished sanding back where the ears were ripped off and sanded the whole horse, he then gave it a coat of varnish and attached new leather ears and a new mane.
He is rightly proud of the finished job.
Good to know that you have a nearby shop that sells replacement manes for rocking horses. There is no such shop here! That's a good looking horse; I hope he has left his name on it somewhere.
ReplyDeleteLuckily, Doug has all sorts of things in storage including a box of manes.
