WASHING MACHINE WOES

The washing machine (a top loader) has done some odd things lately and today there was a small leak so we think it had better go.  Result, another day has vanished.  First thing I did a load of washing which led to the leak.  We then had Doug's younger daughter come around and it was great to catch up for an hour or so.

Most of the day has been spent looking at washing machines on-line.  A lot of them are too large to fit the space of the current machine (a Simpson)  the only Simpson's available now are very large ones so we are thinking of buying a Panasonic.  The one we want, which fits the space is not available in our local store but we will go there anyway tomorrow and look at what they have and put an order in.  The trouble is that you don't know if they are any good until you try them

Another day vanished with nothing accomplished off my list.

  1. So hard to know which is best. I have a F&P, and it is so good, and hope to get a new dryer , same brand, this week. The dryer I have is over 23 years old, one I inherited from a daughter who upgraded.

    1. Will look at F & P as well. Doug had a bad run with them

  2. I believe Simpsons concentrate more on the commercial market, which is why they are so big now. We had many years of use out of our one until it finally gave up. Our machine now is a small (6kg) F&P Washsmart and we have had no problems with it. Good luck with your hunt :)

  3. You can probably find reviews on line. We are at the point too where we need to replace the washer and dryer, but they are both well over twenty years old so I suppose they have given us good service.

    1. 20 years is good. This one was bought when Doug and his late wife moved here 12 years ago. Have been looking at reviews most of day.
