Yesterday, I had planned to go to a Seniornet Meeting, the first since Lockdown but in the end decided I did not want to sit in a room with a lot of other people so I stayed home. I had planned to do a supermarket shop on my way home so we went and did that together. By the time we got home it was lunchtime (where had the morning gone?)
I cannot remember what else I did apart from all the usual things including several phone calls but the day vanished.
Today has been a beautiful sunny day but still with a cold wind - I have been busy cooking a mince/red lentil dish with the usual heap of veggies as well as doing internet banking and catching up with emails. I then cut the first of our cabbages. The caterpillars have had a go at the outside leaves but it is nice and tight and we had some for lunch. Plenty more coming on.
Doug, in the meantime, did some cutting back in the garden so, after lunch I cut up some of his "prunings" into the wheelie bin.
We have just been for our separate walks and I now have some more phone calls to make. I wonder how other people manage to get so much done.
I think the problem is that I used to do this and more and work full time.
ReplyDeleteI used to do so much each day (I read my old diaries and am amazed at myself!) - now I think I am doing well if I achieve one or two things each day :)
ReplyDeleteSomething to do with the aging process but I don't like to think of myself as old.
DeleteWe virtually never use the phone any more and have been debating about whether we need it. Between email and text that about does it for us, and when we chat to my daughter we do it on Facetime so we can see her too.
ReplyDeleteI have several friends who do not have smart phones or any form of computer. My stepdaughter in Australia has problems with her internet so phone is better. Luckily I have minutes to New Zealand and Australia in my cellphone plan.
DeleteIf I remember to do a list the night before, I get things accomplished. The important part is the first part of that sentence.
ReplyDeleteI have a constant "running" list of things to do, unfortunately, some have been on the list since before Lockdown (mainly to do with Income Tax). The job will not take long but I need some quiet time to do it.
DeleteHi
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog. I've enjoyed my visit here. What a beautiful cabbage. I've often used them in center pieces when I entertained and then enjoyed them for dinner later in the week. It is nice to meet you and I look forward to visiting again soon.
Take care,
Constance
Thank you Constance. When I get a chance I will put you on the list of blogs I follow.
