DAY 11 LOCKDOWN - RAYMOND CHING NEW ZEALAND BIRDS

After I showed Doug the lovely paintings of birds on David's post (Travel with Birds) he took some photos of paintings from our copy of Raymond Ching's New Zealand Birds.

My first On-line supermarket order arrived as promised today and there was very little that was not available.  Unfortunately, one of the two cat foods I ordered was not available and the other was limited to two but  Kim is refusing all commercial cat food at present. She did seem to enjoy some of the mince we had for lunch.

  1. Our Freddie used to become very fussy on occasions. We'd simply leave his food out, and eventually it would go. Hunger always beats pickiness.

  4. I Have " Buller's Birds of New Zealand " still in the thick cardboard holder, and the birds there are equally as beautiful. Online, I tried to get a slot, and nothing here for 7 days when I tried, I think at 10.30 p.m. or 5 a.m. are good times to try. However our friend is happy to continue, and another friend left 2 3 litre pale blue top milk, pure GOLD, as I cannot tolerate full cream milk. How we so appreciate normal grocery items now. Lovely sunshine down here, after a red sky this morning.

    1. Yes, Buller's is another great one. Not sure which supermarket you are trying - if Countdown have you applied for Priority Assistance - they have extra slots for that. Both Doug's daughters went to supermarkets this weekend and the queues were so long they went home. I can't tolerate full cream milk now either - in fact I have very little milk and what I do have, in tea, I make up powdered skim milk. Beautiful day here as well but further warnings about the drought.

  9. Obviously a well-illustrated book, and NZ has some very special birds. I investigated a guided birding tour a couple of years ago, but it was prohibitively expensive. Would have been a great trip though!
