DAMP

The weather has not been as bad as forecast YET.  We have had good constant rain all day but  on the Coromandel Peninsula roads are flooded.  With the land being so narrow here sometimes the Weather ends up there rather than here although the Weather warning is still in force for overnight and into tomorrow.  If it stays like this it will be ideal for filling the Dam.

Tomorrow is the meteorologic first day of winter and I have finally got around to unpacking my winter clothes and packing the summer ones away.  There were fewer and older clothes than I remembered but, as I am not expecting to go anywhere anytime soon, it does not really matter.  For the whole of the Lockdown I have lived in a pair of track pants and a blouse or fleece top depending on the temperature.

I do not want to go clothes shopping at present.

The good news is day 9 of no new cases and only one remaining case in the country.

  1. The important thing for NZ is to now keep those figures where they are. Over here, politicians are responding to pressure and relaxing the rules; I can see things going badly wrong. It will be interesting to see if all the rioting in the US has any effect on spreading the virus; it's as if they don't care any more, other concerns have taken priority.

Rain here maybe Wednesday. Fingers crossed!

  2. I'm happy our numbers are staying so low, and hopefully we will soon go down another level. I'm still not that keen on going shopping yet although I am trying to get out of the house more.

  3. I could quite easily wear the same clothes every day (laundered of course). Fashion, style, trendiness etc mean nothing to me. Years ago I used fo do a good deal of volunteer work with blind people, especially blind kids, and since they could not see they had no concept of colours matching, what was stylish or not, and they always opted for the what was comfortable, temperature appropriate and familiar. It was refreshing! I remember one boy, Grant, who loved a heavy "lumberjack" shirt he had, and thought it was the dumbest idea that he couldn't wear it to a function he had to attend with his parents, and had to wear clothes that he didn't like at all. And you know what? He was right.

    1. I have always liked comfort over fashion and the older I get the more so. The blind children had the right idea and I expect they came up with some interesting colour combinations. I have just realised I have one tunic that was new last year so that will have to do for "best" this year.

  4. We've had so much rain here it's not funny, we went from drought mode to too much water, hopefully it's drying out today.
