DAY 46 LOCKDOWN

We are both really tired today.  It could be because we watched television later than usual last night.  We don't watch very much but last night Antique's Roadshow was on followed by Britain's Ancient Tracks with Tony Robinson.  We have seen this series previously but it is well worth a second watch, especially with the way the world is going it seems more and more unlikely that I will get back to the U.K. again.

So, not a lot achieved today but my supermarket order is coming in the next hour (ten days between orders seems to work well),

A cloudy day but no sign of rain.

  1. I used to enjoy Tony Robinson's Archeology programme; not that they ever found much. I'd watch re-runs if they showed them!

  2. I am glad that I am still able to shop for myself. When I go to the store at 7am, the time shopping for seniors begins, the store is almost deserted and I can get in and out quickly with everything on my list. I can leave the house, do the shopping and be back at home in forty-five minutes.

  3. We have a tendency to stay up later watching television since our life has been cut short of activities.

  4. I am a late person as well. But lately I have been reading more books than watching TV as I need to give many away. Because of the 75th anniversary of Liberation I am reading a book on Paris during WW2. I was a wee child during the war so can’t remember much. I had some groceries delivered last week – am still afraid to go out.

  5. I've been enjoying Ancient Tracks - somehow I missed it on its first time round (I guessed this was a repeat as it is on so late). I wish they would broadcast more programmes like this.

    1. Yes, it is good - last night we enjoy Griff Rhys Jones in Australia and always enjoy the Joanna Lumley travel programmes.

  6. We saw the Ancient Tracks a month or so ago here.

Travelling will be more of a problem in the future. I would be willing to go through quarantine if it meant that we could visit NZ again. As we visit for several months at a time that would be less of a problem than affording the air fares...as they will surely rise steeply

    1. Yes, it looks as though passenger numbers will be reducing which will increase fares. As you say, a fornight in quarantine is not too bad for a long stay. Keep safe.
