DAY 49 LOCKDOWN - BIRDS

This morning, while we had our target practice, the birds were happily drinking from the sugar water container.

First the iconic Tui.  Every morning just before the 7 a.m. news we have a bird call,   here is the call of the Tui. I hope it plays for everyone.

Every time the Tui flew away the smaller Silvereyes (or White Eyes) came down.

  1. It plays very well. What a remarkable bird call. Those Silvereyes are stunning, too.

    1. Glad it played. Yes, it is a most unusual call. I love listening to the bird calls on the radio in the mornings.

  2. I'm still putting a limited amount of food out for our birds, but there are very few takers. Too much natural alternative I imagine.

  4. Lovely to see the birds - I have missed my fill of NZ birds this year! I always try to get as many photos as I can when I go home each year.

  6. How great to have the tuis to watch in your own backyard. Not had that since I lived in the country :)

    1. When I was in Kamo I used to have about 6 visiting and when we first moved there we were thrilled to have Kereru visit. We never had them on our 5 acre property up north. Occasionally get one here.
