First the iconic Tui. Every morning just before the 7 a.m. news we have a bird call, here is the call of the Tui. I hope it plays for everyone.
Every time the Tui flew away the smaller Silvereyes (or White Eyes) came down.

It plays very well. What a remarkable bird call. Those Silvereyes are stunning, too.
ReplyDeleteGlad it played. Yes, it is a most unusual call. I love listening to the bird calls on the radio in the mornings.
DeleteI'm still putting a limited amount of food out for our birds, but there are very few takers. Too much natural alternative I imagine.
ReplyDeleteI suppose they will manage on their own soon.
DeleteHow wonderful to see and hear the tui.
ReplyDeleteA lovely song to hear in the morning
Glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteLovely to see the birds - I have missed my fill of NZ birds this year! I always try to get as many photos as I can when I go home each year.
ReplyDeleteWe love watching them. Those were the only ones we managed to get photos of today.
DeleteIf I could go outside and see a a Tui today I would do cartwheels!
ReplyDeleteI would if I could but I was never brave enough.
DeleteHow great to have the tuis to watch in your own backyard. Not had that since I lived in the country :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in Kamo I used to have about 6 visiting and when we first moved there we were thrilled to have Kereru visit. We never had them on our 5 acre property up north. Occasionally get one here.
