On our trip on Sunday we left Ngunguru and carried on around the coast turning off just before Tutukaka
First stop was Church Bay where we sat and had a cuppa and sultana cake,
then Doug walked around the rocks and took the photos of the rock pools
then we drove a short distance to Kowharewa Bay
then Whangaumu Bay.
We then went back to Church Bay where we had company while we had our lunch
What beautiful beaches and not too many people around by the looks of it.
ReplyDeleteI love poking around in rock pools. Always some interesting to observe
Yes, they are lovely beaches and most of them had very few people. I didn't venture to the rock pools as it was a bit slippery.
DeleteWhat a great day trip, visiting those beautiful bays. Even better with few people!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was only the far beach which had people.
DeleteRock-pooling is a hobby that you never grow out of.
ReplyDeleteIt is great. I am a big kid and even like splashing about I puddles.
DeleteI could happily spend weeks, literally, probing through the tide pools, and doing a little birding when they were inundated. Shoreline is perhaps the most perfect habitat of all.
ReplyDeleteWe plan to go to the beach more often. The furthest of those beaches is only 28 kms away.
DeleteWhat a lovely trip. There is something about being around water that stirs the soul. Perhaps it is because that may be where all life began.
ReplyDeleteYes, the bush with the river alongside or the beach.
DeleteSuch a beautiful trip. Thanks for all the photos.
ReplyDeleteIt is good to be able to go to beaches now and I know a lot of people are unable to.
