TO THE BEACHES

Thank you to everyone for your kind words on Sophie's passing and to Jean for your lovely phone call.

When I lived in Kamo Doug used to come around for his evening meals (and during the day) and as soon as he came in Kim the Cat would be on his lap or on the chair even before he could sit down.  Once we moved here when we got married Kim refused to  sit on Doug's lap.  Would you believe it but today she sat on his lap.

Yesterday was a sunny day so Doug suggested we go to the beach for a picnic.  I was about to post some photos when we came home  when Doug came in and said that Sophie could not get up and we called the vet so here are just a few photos from Ngunguru which was our first stop.

We then drove to the other end of Ngunguru near the school

This is the school

and this is their view.  Just the other day it was mentioned in the newspaper that the whole school went across the road to watch a pod of dolphins.

  1. I've never been to Ngunguru, right now quiet sounds good.

  2. My cousin lived in Ngunguru for many years, it seems so fitting as now both your beloved Sophie and my much loved Ann have both left us.A phone call seemed to be so little to ease your grief, but words spoken, rather than doing nothing, is always better. Doug, have memories filled with love.

    1. I am wondering whether Ann was the lady you were planning on visiting when we first "met" as you were hoping to come up here to visit someone. Yes, lots of lovely memories.

  3. Now that is a civilized school that takes its pupils out of the indoor class, to the real learning centre outdoors to see dolphins. Bravo!
